Redefining the way you see the world

What are Lenses?

There are some medical treatments to help people see better. One of these is the lens. Eye diseases can be experienced by both children and the elderly and there are treatment methods available. A lens is a medical device produced to eliminate or stabilize a person's eye condition. It has its own types. Lenses used by many people are highly appreciated.

Types of Lenses

Monofocal Lens

A monofocal lens is a type of lens that is used in cataract surgery and vision correction. It is referred to as “monofocal” because it has a single focal point and corrects vision for either close, mid, or distance vision, but not all three at the same time.

During cataract surgery, a monofocal lens is implanted to replace the clouded natural lens of the eye. The monofocal lens is intended to provide clear vision at a particular focal distance specified by the patient's choices and needs. The most popular option is to configure the monofocal lens to provide clear distance vision while needing the use of reading glasses or bifocals for close-up tasks.

Multifocal Lenses

Multifocal lenses are a type of lens that is used in cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange to correct presbyopia and offer vision at various distances—typically near, mid, and distance vision. Multifocal lenses, as opposed to monofocal lenses, attempt to lessen or eliminate the need for spectacles or contact lenses following surgery.

Multifocal lenses have a unique design incorporating numerous focal zones or ring into the lens surface. Each zone has been designed for a certain range of vision, allowing the eye to focus on objects at various distances. This allows people to see effectively at different distances without relying entirely on glasses or contact lenses.

Trifocal Lenses

Trifocal lenses are a form of multifocal lens that is used in eyeglasses or contact lenses to correct presbyopia, a disorder that affects persons over the age of forty and causes difficulties focusing on close objects. Trifocal lenses enable unclouded vision at three different distances: close, midrange, and far.

Trifocal lenses are designed with three separate optical zones within each lens. The top of the lens is for far vision, the middle for intermediate vision (such as computer screens or dashboard instruments), and the bottom for close vision (reading or close-up chores). These zones are frequently identified on the lens by visible lines.
