Prostatectomy in Turkey

Prostatectomy is the complete or partial removal of the prostate gland by a surgeon. Radical prostatectomy is the name given to the complete removal of the prostate. It is an operation used for cancers in the pelvic region, prostate cancer, or conditions that cause urinary retention. There are two types of prostatectomies. These can be listed as open prostatectomy, laparoscopic surgery, and robotic prostatectomy.
In open prostatectomy, the prostate is removed through an open incision and is mostly used for large prostates. The laparoscopic method is a procedure in which small incisions are made in the abdomen. Robotic prostatectomy is performed by controlling the surgical instruments with a robotic arm and control panel.
